Ok before I rant about cap suit in the Avengers movie I'll start by saying I love captain america he is bad ass. The comics are amazing and the movies are kick ass.....but

WTF? I feel like caps suit was an after thought, he looked awesome in The First Avenger and I couldnt wait to see his uniform in The Avengers movie. But instead we got this dodgy cos play looking thing.
The concept art/Promo images looked great and but so far the movie images make him looks a tard.
The main thing that erks me is the helmet which generaly looks good except for the ears. The early concepts had the ears showing and that looked cool but with the era guards it makes his head look too wide. The other thing with the Helmet is the chin/neck area it is way too open for my liking the chin strap in the FA was way better looking.
The color...come on, I know he's captain america and stealth isnt exactly his thing but one of the other team mates would have could that out for sure...."Cap you look like a twat"
anyway you seew here Im going. So I did a quick "Fix sketch to show how I would have done it.
Darken the colors had the white on the rams go all the way around giving him a broader look which is also helped by making the star symbol smaller and moved up highre on the chest. Leather instead of red for his guanlets, boots and belts. Got rid of the pointless zips on his thighs and reaveled his ears and gave him a gun.

So rant over. Really looking forward to the movie...I hope it kicks ass.

I completely agree that the new Cap suit looks ridiculous. The First Avenger looked great and actually practical. The new suit is too colorful, really skinny, and the helmet really does not match. It looks like one step above a party city costume. When we were shown the new costume display for Avengers, everyone was raving about how awesome it looked, but I thought to myself it would look weird once he put it on. And from that image, I definitely think he does looks weird. Many complain about the neck sock too. Picturing him fighting while wearing those ridiculous bright colors and that really out of place helmet makes me almost laugh. Typically though, I'll reserve my judgement when I see the film itself, but the trailers make me shake my head at his costume. Personally I would have liked to see the First Avenger movie costume modernized to a modern soldier standards.

What you did there makes the costume look less silly. I also like how you put the gun holster back in too. I almost didn't see that.

All good improvements. I must say though, I suspect The Avengers movie, is going to be the biggest disappointment, when measured by expectations vs. what is actually delivered, of this very jam packed summer of blockbuster popcorn flicks. Hope I'm wrong, but doubt very much that I am, based on what I've seen thus far.
